Riot Games has enlisted electronic visionary Anyma to help shape the opening ceremony for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, marking one of the most ambitious creative collaborations in Worlds history.
The event will take place November 9th in Chengdu, where Anyma will serve as creative co-director for the ceremony’s third act and join Chinese pop star G.E.M. on stage for a special live performance of this year’s Worlds anthem, “Sacrifice.” G.E.M previously released the track as the official song for Worlds 2025.
Known for redefining live digital art with his groundbreaking Las Vegas Sphere residency, Anyma will bring his surreal, futuristic visual universe to the League of Legends stage, blending the game’s mythology with his boundary-pushing aesthetic.
“I’ve been an avid gamer all my life, so headlining Worlds 2025 is a real honor,” Anyma said. “League of Legends has created universes that inspire millions. I’m excited to bring my sound and touch into their world and push the boundaries of what's possible through such an impactful medium.”
Maria Egan, Riot’s Global Head of Music & Events, called the collaboration “unlike anything we’ve done before,” emphasizing its mission to fuse League of Legends lore with Anyma’s immersive art direction and elevate Worlds into a broader cultural moment.
The ceremony will also feature performances from Austrian artist TEYA and Chrissy Costanza, whose 2017 Worlds anthem “Legends Never Die” remains a fan favorite. Production studio Done+Dusted will support the show, which will broadcast live from the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium.
Fans can tune in to the League of Legends Worlds 2025 broadcast on November 9th to experience the performance live.
